Mechanical tensile test

Polytech’s accredited test centers in Denmark offer to perform mechanical tensile tests on different materials. These tests are used to document how the material tested reacts under various forms of load. This provides the perfect basis for selecting the appropriate combination of materials for solutions and concepts designed to provide optimal performance under given conditions.

Our accredited test center performs four types of mechanical tensile test:

GENERAL

  • ISO 527 part 1, 2 and 3
Plastics – Determination of tensile properties
    Part 1: General principles
Part 2: Test conditions for moulding and extrusion plastics
Part 3: Test conditions for films and sheets

PEEL TEST

  • ASTM D 3300
Standard test method for peel adhesion of pressure-sensitive tape
  • ISO 4578
Adhesives – Determination of peel resistance of high-strength adhesive bonds – Floating-roller method

SHEAR TEST

  • ASTM D-1002
Standard test method for apparent shear strength of single-lap-joint adhesively.
  • Bonded metal specimens by tension loading (metal-to-metal)

TEAR TEST

  • ASTM D-624
Standard test method for tear strength of conventional vulcanized rubber and thermoplastic elastomers

  • ISO34
Rubber, vulcanized or thermoplastic – determination of tear strength

It will often make sense to combine the test types mentioned above with different weathering tests.
