The purpose of this test is to verify the endurance of equipotential bonding connections and various other conducting geometries that may be subjected to short-circuit current in the event of a failure in the electrical system.
The test is performed using a short-circuit generator that delivers current at amplitudes of up to 15kAACRMS for up to 30 minutes.
The test equipment can also be configured as an ordinary heating transformer, whereby cables for lightning protection systems can be preconditioned to normal operating temperatures in connection with insulation tests.
All tests are performed according to customer specifications, such as IEC, UL, ANSI, or corresponding test standards.
